"The decision has not yet been made": Louis Sarkozy "does not rule out" a candidacy for the municipal elections

"The decision has not yet been made": Louis Sarkozy "does not rule out" a candidacy for the municipal elections
The son of the former President of the Republic, who is increasingly less secretive about his political ambitions, says that the decision to run in the municipal elections in Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes "has not yet been made."

"It's not out of the question at all." Louis Sarkozy , essayist and author, did not rule out his possible candidacy in the next municipal elections in 2026 on BFMTV. The son of former President Nicolas Sarkozy , who admitted to having bought an apartment in Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes, nevertheless said he was still giving himself time to think about it.

"It's not at all out of the question, and to be honest with you, the decision hasn't been made yet," he assured us on air.

The LR mayor of Menton, Yves Juhel, announced on BFM Nice Côte d'Azur that he will meet Louis Sarkozy this week, not ruling out a possible "agreement" with him in 2026: "He called me and asked that we meet as a courtesy."

"My concern is that we manage to bring together the broadest possible constituency of the Republican right and the center in Menton to thwart the far right," the mayor explained on BFM Nice Côte d'Azur.

Louis Sarkozy faces the GG - 12/05

Louis Sarkozy, who last week released Napoleon Bonaparte: Empire of Books , says the "only thing that matters" to him now is "trying to present and sell this book."

"The second things change, I'll call (...) to announce the good news," he said on BFMTV.

"I don't even know if I'm going to run, let alone if there will be a (political, editor's note) label," he continued on BFMTV, claiming to be "republican right-wing and not attracted by the work or the offer of the National Rally." Also, Louis Sarkozy believes that an RN candidacy in Menton next year "could be a motivation": "the argument is electoral: when they triumph, we (the republican right) don't."
